My clients are primarily large and small publishers (including dozens of imprints among the Big Five), book packagers, and university presses. I do not work for individual authors.

I’m pretty flexible!  I’ll take on almost any fiction genre; I copyedit and proofread speculative fiction, fantasy/paranormal, mysteries, thrillers, literary and historical fiction, romance/erotica, young adult fiction, and more. I also copyedit series fiction (maintaining continuity across the series) and anthologies. Frequent nonfiction topics are self-help, education, business, health care, software/IT study guides and tutorials, science, cooking, biography, and memoir (including those of several celebrities!), but I’ll tackle almost any subject. I copyedit electronically in Word 2021 and consider myself a power user; I’m proficient in using styles, templates, macros, and add-in tools to get your files into the best possible shape. I can also proofread in Acrobat using annotation and markup tools. I have a four-monitor setup for maximum efficiency, powered by a custom-built tower, with a robust backup system. My spouse has built me an amazing custom desk with plenty of space to spread out. I call my desk, with all its blinking lights, monitors, and tech toys “the bridge of my enterprise.” When I’m editing away from my office, even if it’s just on the couch or in my “summer office” on the back deck, I’m using my trusty Lenovo ThinkPad workhorse (currently the third one I’ve owned).
